Build a new society through anti-U.S. action!

The People's Democratic Party held a rally and a demo in Seoul on Nov. 20, calling for the liquidation of evils, social drastic reform, conclusion of a peace pact between the DPRK and the U.S. and withdrawal of the U.S. forces from south Korea. They stressed the need to drive the GIs out of south Korea by efforts of popular masses and replace the Armistice Agreement with a peace pact and build a new society in which the Korean nation lives by its concerted efforts. South Korea has purchased the U.S.-made weaponry and conducted war games owing to the U.S. pressure, it has offered upkeep expense for the GIs and the U.S. has lined its pocket by the expense of upkeep, they charged. Saying a danger of war is looming contrary to the will of candlelight resistance, they noted that they should wage a strong action for uprooting the evils and build a peaceful society by liquidating the conservative forces. The current government is conducting war exercises against north Korea, w

Indelible Trace Left in Panmunjom

Indelible Trace Left in Panmunjom Leader  Kim Jong Il  inspected the truce village of Panmunjom in November, 1996.  It was a severe time when the US and south Korean puppets, trumpeting about “emergency” and “change of system” in the DPRK, were making a desperate bid to provoke a war against it, and the world people focused on the Korean Peninsula with tense look. At that time, the leader inspected the truce village of Panmunjom. His inspection dealt a hard blow at the enemies who were hell-bent on the stifling socialism and it was a great encouragement for the Korean people and world progressives. It was a grand immortal act of brilliant commander to realize the Korean nation’s long-cherished desire, the national reunification. He inspected the various places in Panmunjom including the monument to President  Kim Il Sung ’s autograph for national reunification. While inspecting, he made devoted efforts to hand down the reunified country to the generation to come. The

Mounting Campaign against U.S.

Members of the south Korean youth resistance movement staged protest demonstrations towards the U.S. embassy in Seoul on October 17 and November 1 and 13. They marched toward the U.S. embassy with placards in their hands, scattering leaflets written “Trump, war lunatic!” and “Halt to war game against north Korea!”. They urged the U.S. to immediately stop its nuclear war drills against north Korea with three nuclear carrier task forces involved. The Korean Peninsula stands at crossroads to be a hard-fought field or torchlight of global independence, as the US, a war state, lays bare its color, they stressed.   The   U.S. nuclear aircraft carriers have been deployed around the Korean Peninsula according to the U.S. strategy, it is foreign to security and defense of south Korea at all, they asserted.   Shouts of independence against the U.S. and war would resound across south Korea, they warned.    The Solidarity for Peace and Reunification of Korea  on Nov. 13 called a

Speakers at the rally urged the regime to combat evils, reform the society, withdraw THAAD, bring peace to the Korean Peninsula and release the prisoners of conscience including the chairman of the Confederation. The acting chairman of the Confederation blamed that six months have passed since the new government appeared, however, nothing has changed as required by the candlelight demonstrators for eradicating 70-odd year deep-rooted evils and building a new society. If the authorities do not amend labor law for ensuring the

Last Days of Accomplices

Park Geun-hye’s close yes-men, An Bong-geun and Lee Jae-man were indicted for embezzling 4 billion won (4 million US$) by the prosecution.   No sooner had Park won the presidency than she demanded the   National Intelligence Service   to offer special fund of millions won. The NIS donated five million won (5 000 US$) to all secretary's offices under the Cheongwadae secretary’s office every month from 2015 to 2016. The senior secretary’s offices of Cheongwadae spent the money under the excuse of entertaining guests. An Bong-geun,   former senior presidential secretary   for information embezzled 100 million won (100 000 US$) and Lee Jae-man misappropriated 50 million won (50 000 US$) every month.      All Park’s yes-men are reduced to prisoners and the case would fan out to other secretaries of Cheongwadae under the Park group.   On Nov. 11, Kim Gwan-jin, former defense minister and a head of policy department of the   Ministry of National Defense,

Gloomy Land

Young people are rejected as troublemakers of the society in south Korea where extreme egoism, all descriptions of immorality and depravity are rife. According to data issued by the Public Prosecutors Office, out of 100 000 population, the number of juvenile criminals increased 737.4 in 2015 from 540.8 in 2006. The pupils in their teens, who have been tainted with corrupt bourgeois ideological poisoning, are committing crimes beyond imagination.    Some days ago, a 15 year old pupil beat his father suffering cerebral infarction to death for the mere reason that his father did not offer him money for computer game. From June of 2016 to June of 2017, six unsound pupils in Gwangju kidnapped boys and girls at the same age to the playgrounds or inns to wrench money or valuables from them, making an assault upon them. Girls in their teens, who should be respected as flower of the society, are committing violence and crime to turn themselves into wicked one.

Trump has browbeaten north Korea by spouting a litany of “fire and fury” and “total destruction”, while aggravating the tension on the Korean Peninsula with military option, they charged.   Trump’s junket to Seoul is nothing close to peace and it is crystal clear that he would stoke war mood by bulldozing south Korea into putting pressure and applying sanctions on north Korea, they noted. It is as plain as a pikesta
