British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification on the Korean Peninsula condemns US blocking of inter-Korean railway


BRITISH SOLIDARITY COMMITTEE FOR PEACE AND REUNIFICATION ON THE KOREAN PENINSULA

The British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification on the Korean Peninsula (BSCPRKP) 
issued the following statement concerning the blocking of the inter-Korean rail project;
   The DPRK and south Korea planned to open an inter-Korean rail link which would effectively gave south Korea an overland route into Asia and beyond as well as greatly boosting inter-Korean co-operation and making a great contribution to peace and reunification .This had been a project that had been conceived a long time ago. The the 6th point of the Panmunjom declaration of the 27th of April
states that " South and North Korea agreed to actively implement the projects previously agreed in the October 4 Declaration, in order to promote balanced economic growth and co-prosperity of the nation. As a first step, the two sides agreed to adopt practical steps towards the connection and modernization of the railways and roads on the eastern transportation corridor such as Gyeongui and Sinuiju for their utilization in the future."
  However sadly  the so-called "UN Command " in south Korea which in reality is a ghost command and a cover for US imperialist colonialist rule in south Korea , blocked the joint field study for the rail link on Thursday 31st of August . This is an insidious move by the US to scupper inter-Korean
co-operation and bring it to naught .
    What this shows is the US is the enemy of peace and reunification .
  We strongly condemn the US and the so-called UN Command for blocking efforts for inter-Korean co-operation and call for the dissolution of the so-called UN Command  !

A mass rally held

     South Korean laborers held a large scale rally against Yoon Suk-yeol in Seoul. The National Meeting of Workers 2023 involving 110,000 laborers appealed for a nationwide campaign to disband the People's Power Party and to get the Yoon regime withdrawn for dismantling the trade unions, driving many laborers to death, and destroying happiness of families. The participants vehemently accused the Yoon regime of escalating oppression upon the trade union. Modern-version "gladiators"

    Nowadays, the south Korean people put an accusing finger at the members of ruling and opposition parties as modern-version "gladiators". In the political circles of south Korea, the ruling and opposition parties have been constantly at feud with each other. Due to the dog fights between the People's Power Party and the Minjoo Party of Korea for introducing of "a special prosecution system" to investigate the suspicion of Kim Keon-hee's illegality and corruption and "the preferential development in Taejangdong", the budget bill for the coming year has not yet been passed beyond its "legal period".
