Commentary of AINDF Spokesman-on US demands for increased 'defence costs' from south Korea

Civic organizations have blamed the US for putting pressure upon south Korea to increase its share of defense cost.

Civic organizations including the South Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration and the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions expressed discontent at the US attitude, saying that the US seeks only its profit through the pressure and is going to spend the expenses for escalating the danger of war in the Korean Peninsula and the US imposes layoff on the south Korean workers at the US military bases as part of its pressure on south Korea to steeply increase its share of defense cost.

The public displeasure reflects the gangster-like stand of the US, which regards the south Koreans as an inferior race.

The US has painted a black picture of the sovereignty of south Korea, with the result the south Koreans have suffered unspeakable misfortune and pain.

The south Korean authorities have kept mum about the US ambassador to south Korea who is interfering in domestic affairs and infringing upon the sovereignty of south Korea.

It is a secret intention of the US to apply share of defense cost to upkeep of the US forces and strategic assets in foreign countries, a matter foreign to the US forces in south Korea.

It is a daydream for south Korea to think about independence and dignity of south Korea where foreign domination and pro-US sycophancy are prevalent. It tells that the south Korean people can never get rid of misfortune and disaster.

The south Korean people from all walks of life are required to wage more courageous actions to put an end to the US arbitrariness and pro-US sycophancy.
