Great fortune of nation

April 15, 1912 when President
Kim Il Sung was born was the day of the greatest luck for the Korean nation and the historic day of the independence age of humankind. The auspicious Day of the Sun is approaching.

His birth was the greatest event of the nation which acclaimed the greatest man for the first time since the dawn of history when dark clouds of national ruin hung heavily and the fate of the nation was at stake.

His birth brought about the dawn of liberation of Korea which had suffered an eclipse on the world map by the Japanese military occupation of Korea.

The Korean nation could push ahead the building of a full-fledged independent and sovereign state.

The DPRK defeated a formidable imperialism which boasted of being the "strongest" in the world in the 1950s and has made a long drive in confrontation with the US for decades to defend its dignity and sovereignty. It liquidated the century-old backwardness of the country in a short span of time and built a socialist bulwark in the world which is independent in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in national defense to turn the DPRK into a paradise for the people. It is attributable to excellent and seasoned leadership of President Kim Il Sung.

Taking to heart more than anyone else the tragedy of territorial division, he had devoted himself to reunification of Korea.

He set forth the Three Charters for National Reunification with his far-sighted wisdom and insight and established the milestone for the great unity of the whole nation and independent reunification. He provided a firm guarantee for the country’s reunification with his indefatigable effort.

He, an experienced political elder of the world, opened up a fresh age in which the people make the history as the masters of their own destiny by dint of the Juche idea and confirmed that independence is the truth of history and victory of the revolution with his prominent leadership and revolutionary practice.

Independence is highlighted as the symbol of the President and a term of the contemporary age praising revolutionary career and undying achievements of the President.

It is the greatest luck of the Korean nation and world people to have President Kim Il Sung in high esteem as the sun of Juche who made titanic contributions on behalf of the country, nation, times and history.
